Statistics show that visitor numbers to Japan from Australia are increasing year on year. Demand is expected to increase, with the Rugby World Cup 2019 and the Tokyo Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.
From January to December 2017, 495,100 visited, an 11.2% increase from the prevous year.
Winter (Dec-Feb) is still the most popular time for Australian travellers, with tens of thousands making their annual pilgrimage to experience Japan’s exceptional powder ski fields.
